What Is the Cat Clapping Meme?
A guide to the slow-clapping cat reaction, original clips and personalized AI videos.

The cat clapping meme uses a cat's exaggerated applause as a reaction: a little approval, a little sarcasm, and a look that says it all. The recent black-cat version includes an uncanny grin and humanlike hands. This page explains the format; it does not distribute the original creator's footage.
An original clip, an overlay, or your own cat?
These are different tasks. Watching the original gives you context. A green-screen overlay lets you place an existing cat clip on a background. A personalized AI video starts from your own cat photo and creates new footage. An image reference does not guarantee the same timing, cuts or performance as a reference video.
Our October 15, 2026 public-page review recorded a person-and-cat workflow at Catclapping.com and a pet-photo workflow at MakeViral. Those are dated published descriptions, not a quality comparison or a claim that we tested their paid results.
What makes the reaction recognizable?
The slow pace matters. The hands should meet, separate and pause so that each clap reads clearly. The expression should remain stable, and the cat's head and forelimbs need room in the frame. If the motion is just waving, the joke gets lost.

Actual Pet photo output at 4.8 seconds, showing a personalized tabby cat in the applause scene. A still frame cannot show the full motion or sound.
Can I make it with my own cat?
Prepare a photo in our generator. Our generator offers pet-photo, person-photo and two-photo casting for the full story. A one-photo scene uses the reference appearance for the other role. The homepage shows our own generated examples with their source photos. Review each new take for character appearance, shot order, motion and sound. Check the pricing page for the current pack and checkout status; we do not advertise a success rate.
Before posting
Review the whole output. Check your cat's markings, hands, cuts and sound. Use photos and audio you have permission to use, and disclose AI generation where the platform requires it. Cat Clapping at cat-clapping.com is independent of the original creators and catclapping.com.
